Design and Development
Every Davenports website starts with a Client Vision Sheet (request a copy). This is a comprehensive questionnaire that helps to determine your requirements and guide the process right from the beginning. The vision sheet is designed for customers with varying levels of technical knowledge - so if you don’t know your XHTML from your CSS then don’t worry! Just fill the sheet in with whatever terminology you feel comfortable with.
From there, Davenport Web will start a dialog with you to discover exactly what you, and your visitors, want from your website. All the documentation we produce will be uploaded to our client area (coming soon), allowing you to look back at the design process from beginning to end.
Once we have some ideas about the direction you’d like your site to go in, we’ll produce initial site structures and designs for you to review. Depending on the package you’ve chosen, we’ll go through several stages of redesign until we end up with something that’s perfect for your needs.
We’ll use the branding, logo & graphic design skills of our accomplished graphic and usability designers to give your site the right image and create an emotional connection with your visitor.
Once your site’s ready to get going, we’ll talk to you about domain names, email and hosting. After everything’s agreed, we’ll produce your website using solid software engineering practises and the latest web standards.
Once complete, we’ll upload your site to your new hosting, at which point you’ll be able to review and request any changes necessary. Afterwards, we hand over the keys and provide you with training.
Congratulations! You have your brand new website!
